Peer Review Policy

Created On: 19 February 2026

Peer review is the evaluation of scientific, academic, or professional work by experts in the same field to support the publication of high-quality research. In line with our publication policies, the Journal of Nutritional Research & Dietetics (JNRD) applies a double-blind peer review process, in which both reviewer and author identities remain anonymous to ensure objectivity and impartial evaluation.

The peer review process at JNRD is as follows:

- All submissions are initially assessed by the Editor-in-Chief for topical relevance and compliance with the journal’s aims, scope, and author guidelines.

- The Editor-in-Chief assigns each manuscript to at least two reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers may include members of the editorial team or external experts. Authors may request the exclusion of specific individuals due to potential conflicts of interest; however, authors are not permitted to recommend preferred reviewers.

- Reviewers are normally asked to return their evaluations within four weeks. The Editor-in-Chief considers the reviewers’ comments together with the editorial assessment when making a decision.

- Based on the combined assessments, the Editor-in-Chief communicates one of the following decisions to the authors: acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.

Reviewer comments are provided anonymously.
